TRIP ITINERARY
ITINERARY CITY TOUR IN CUSCO ECONOMIC 5 HOURS
Our transport service will pick you up directly from your hotel, ensuring a seamless transition to the starting point of your tour. We provide two convenient shifts: the morning shift commences at approximately 08:30 AM and concludes at 2:00 PM, while the afternoon shift starts around 1:00 PM and wraps up at 6:30 PM.
The journey begins at the awe-inspiring Cusco Cathedral, adorned with intricate woodwork, impressive altars, and captivating paintings by local artists from the Cusco School. These paintings conceal elements of indigenous thought, adding layers of meaning to their beauty.
Following this, we embark on a brief stroll through the historic center’s streets to reach Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. Historically, entering this site required fasting and walking barefoot, as it was revered as an indigenous sanctuary dedicated to deities like the Sun, Moon, Stars, Rainbow, Thunder, and Lightning. Marvel at the enduring lithic technology crafted by the Incas, showcasing intricate stone-cutting that remains resilient despite earthquakes.
Post the Qoricancha visit, we board transportation to Sacsayhuaman, situated 3 km from Cusco. The esplanade offers a panoramic view of the city and is constructed with massive limestone blocks weighing between 25 to 130 tons. Comprising three terraces in a zigzag pattern, Sacsayhuaman served as a gathering place for festivals like WARACHIKUY and INTI RAYMI due to its vastness.
Our exploration extends to Qenqo, meaning “labyrinth” in Quechua, located a kilometer from Sacsayhuaman. It features limestone rock structures sculpted over 500 meters, believed to have served various purposes, including astronomical, religious, embalming, and mummification.
Subsequently, we visit Puka Pukara, translating to “red fortress” in Quechua. Positioned strategically, it controlled access to and from the Imperial City of Cusco, serving as a territorial border with travel regulations.
The final destination is Tambomachay, a resting place 9 km from Cusco, renowned as the “Inca Baths” for its water sources and the “Waters of Eternal Youth” due to constant flowing waters. The City Tour concludes as we transport you back to your hotel in Cusco.
